Cllr Samantha Harvey

Treasurer

Samantha Harvey was elected in 2018 as the UK’s first Chinese-born district councillor and represents the Wakefield Rural Ward. This achievement can be traced to the recognition Sam accrued as the founder of One World travel agency. Her business success motivated Sam to run as a councillor, hoping to become a loyal, local politician for Wakefield.

Since her election, Sam has achieved several campaign pledges including improving local roads. Sam is also a key figure in Wakefield’s economic rejuvenation plan. Recently, Sam became the shadow Portfolio Holder of Regeneration and Economic Growth, allowing her to ensure that rejuvenation continues effectively. Additionally, in June, Sam used her contacts in Nanning to procure a bulk amount of PPE for local key workers battling Covid-19.

Sam is up for re-election in 2021 and is focused on tackling a challenging year for Wakefield caused by the pandemic.

Cllr Sanjay Shambu

Chairman

Sanjay is a unitary Councillor on the South Gloucestershire Council and represents Charlton & Cribbs constituent ward. He is also a school governor at Charlton Wood Primary Academy. In the voluntary party, Sanjay is deputy chair of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Conservative area, which represents thirteen parliamentary constituencies in the south-west region.
Sanjay is a lifelong supporter of Royal British Legion and British Armed forces. Sanjay was instrumental in leading the #BackBoris campaign in his area, which successfully contributed to Boris Johnson’s leadership campaign.
By profession, Sanjay is a software engineer and specialises in data engineering and artificial intelligence. He is a passionate Conservative since his university days at Oxford, where he was a member of the Oxford Union and graduated with distinction.

Cllr Shade Adoh

Head of Outreach/Fundraising

Cllr Shade Adoh is a registered Nurse and a Unitary Councillor representing a rural and diverse community. Shade sits on Standards, Children and Education committees. Shade Stood as a Parliamentary candidate in 2017 and 2019 in Doncaster and Walthamstow. She volunteers with local Healthwatch to signpost residents, advocate and influence health and social care providers so services are designed to meet local needs. 

She is a have been a full-time mother, chair of PTA and a parent governor at a local school. She volunteered for almost two years at the Citizens’ Advice Bureau. 

The knowledge, skills and experience of doing these works and having these responsibilities have made her realise just how important it is to genuinely represent BAME community views. 

Maurisa S. Coleman

Head of Comms/Events

Maurisa S. Coleman is a British–Trinidadian, Political Activist, Business and Finance Entrepreneur, and currently working for the House of Commons.

Her passion for government and politics became a strong focus area following several International Relations business ventures and committee engagements through her company Maurisa Coleman Incorporated Ltd: Business and Financial Consulting. Her earlier career spans Hotel management, chartered financial management of projects for global firms across the EMEA region and film production through Black Panther Productions of which she is a co-owner.

Maurisa is a strong voice in the Caribbean community with her continued interest and involvement in Notting Hill Carnival as National Ambassador.  She has also worked on promoting equality and fairness in the BAME community through her parliamentary work, such as interviews with the Blue-Collar Tories and articles in Conservative Home. 

Cllr Rajesh Singh

Head of Delivery

Raj Singh has broad experience across the private, public and volunteering sector and presently a councillor from the Reading borough council. He holds the portfolio of shadow lead councillor for Neighbourhood and communities, additionally working as security cleared senior project manager in the cyber technology area. He migrated to the U.K. in the year 2007-08 and studied Business Information Technology for a master’s degree. While studying, Mr Singh was awarded Outstanding Student Ambassador for Middlesex University for his volunteering work in the education sector with pupils from the disadvantaged background.

Raj is a passionate grassroots campaigner and involved in engaging with various community leaders, events and voluntary work majorly focused on ethnic minorities and Indian diaspora of U.K. and previously organised blood donation camps and events to raise funds for the Nepal Earthquake and Kashmir floods for various charities and registered responder for Royal voluntary service.
